American Safety & Health Institute Courses

As an approved American Safety & Health Institute training center, SIEMT’s authorized instructors provide the best, most effective emergency care training in the area. We offer a range of CPR, First Aid, and certification programs designed to instruct individuals who desire or are required to be certified in emergency care response.

  • Bloodborne Pathogens

    Healthcare/Non-Healthcare Professional course

    The Bloodborne Pathogens (BBP) training program includes information that will help students understand that bloodborne pathogens are and how risks of exposure can be reduced for themselves and others. This BBP certification course assists in satisfying the training for the U.S. Department of Labor, OSHA BBP Standard (29 CFR 1910.1030). This course is ideal for any employee who has a reasonable anticipation of contact with blood or other potentially infectious materials as a result of performing their designated job duties. Some of these careers include tattoo artists, environmental service workers, phlebotomists, lab technicians, and janitorial staff.

  • CPR/BLS

    Healthcare/Non-Healthcare Professional course

    The goal is this BLS program is for participants to gain or improve knowledge and skill proficiency in high-quality CPR skills and teamwork for the adult, child, and infant. This course is intended for individuals who are healthcare providers (in and out of hospital), public safety professionals in a variety of occupational settings, or individuals enrolled in healthcare and public safety career training programs who require BLS training.

  • Advanced First Aid

    Community course

    This ASHI Advanced First Aid presents many of the most common illnesses and injuries responders are likely to encounter in an emergency. This course is for the person who needs or desires first aid training, in addition to a basic level course, but not to the level of Emergency Medical Service personnel. Non-EMS responders, including government, corporate, industry, lifeguards, security personnel, law enforcement, corrections personnel, and individuals who desire or require certification in Advanced First Aid, would benefit from this advanced-level course.

     

  • Child & Babysitter Safety

    Community course

    The new Child and Babysitting Safety (CABS) program from ASHI gives teenagers and young adults everything they need to know for safe and successful babysitting. From getting started with their business, to dealing with parents, children, to key strategies, caregiving, and first aid tips, the magazine-format CABS guide and vlogger-style learner video make learning fun. This course is designed for Emergency response teams in business and industry, adult residential care personnel, teachers, parents, and babysitters.

     

  • Wilderness First Aid (WFA)

    Community course

    Wilderness First aid is a comprehensive 16-hour wilderness first aid course that meets or exceeds the Boy Scouts of America Wilderness First Aid Curriculum and Doctrine Guidelines, 2017 Edition. This course covers wilderness and remote first aid from a basic understanding of emergency response in an outdoor setting to specific techniques and considerations for a wide range of injuries and illnesses. First aid providers in a remote outdoor setting will be better prepared to respond with wilderness first aid training when faced with limited resources, longer times to care for someone, and decisions about when and how fast to evacuate an ill or injured person.
